Aftermath was held in December 2022 in the Arnatt Gallery of the University of Calgary Art Department. This exhibition was part of my coursework as a Master of Fine Art student.

Artist Statement

This exhibition of work is a series of studies of an energy landscape following an event. An event can be described as a decisive action, or breaking of symmetry, of invariance, or of innocence.

The images and objects in this exhibition are derived from personal experience and informed by concepts from physics.

How does this landscape evolve over time? What order arises when we survey the debris field, as the system approaches the ground state?

I made observations of the aftermath on paper and in clay using methods including intaglio printmaking, blast etching, drawing/painting, and sculpting.
